Lantana is a master-planned community just 8 miles from downtown Austin. Talk about location! Frescale and AMD are just around the corner as well as other tech companies that are also close by. Developed in 2005, Lantana sits in the Texas Hill Country surrounded by hills and windy little streets that make it very charming indeed. On any given day you will see strollers, runners, bikes and neighbors visiting one another. You get the feeling of a real close-knit community as the residents really care about each other. Plantation Homes, Newmark and Meritage have been providing beautiful homes to families for 6 years and must be doing something right because there is very little turn-over in this charming neighborhood.
Lantana Close-By Amenities
Hill Country Galleria is THE place to go for just about anything you want. I can’t talk enough about this outdoor mall which is about 15 minutes west on 71. On a warm summer night you can sit outside in the amphitheatre and listen to some great local bands, or maybe a play. There is a movie theatre, fabulous restaurants and, of course, tons of retail therapy to be had. During the Christmas holidays the kids enjoy Santa, and snow (you gotta have snow) along with plays, music, and carollers. Sit outside, sip on some hot chocolate and enjoy everything that is going on around you. Now this is the Christmas spirit! If you like fresh, organic, locally grown fruits and vegetables like me, then you’ll enjoy the Sunset Valley Farmers Market. This market is a lot of fun and at the same time you’re getting the best produce available while supporting the local growers. In addition to the fruits and vegetables, you’ll find candles, breads, BBQ sauces, dipping sauces, flowers, plants and pastries to name a few. There is also entertainment from some of the local talent here in Austin and it’s fun to listen to while you’re filling your basket with lots of goodies. One of the things I like best is that you can sample almost everything!
Check it out.
